The use of metal detectors to find hidden artefacts is interesting and topical. A three year old found a gold pendant whilst out with his dad using the metal detector for the first time. It also topical because they use them as bomb detection in Afghanistan to keep the troops safe. Also I could use this opportunity to raise awareness of the fact that people are illegally taking artefacts from the ground therefore limiting the chance of new archaeological finds.
